Review documentation after variables change

Treat documentation updates as a review step whenever you rename tokens, change values or add modes.

Compare a controlled change

Change one known variable in a duplicate file or test collection. Open Variables Doc Designer and use its available insert or update workflow. Compare the corresponding documentation row with the variable panel. This small check makes it easier to distinguish an outdated table from an incorrect source value.

Check names, modes and aliases

Look for renamed variables, removed entries and newly added modes. Check aliases against the intended source token, especially when collections refer to one another. If the result is incomplete, first confirm the variables are local and available in the open file and check the plugin’s current license or feature limits.

Keep editorial notes separate

Keep your usage guidance outside generated table rows so that regenerating documentation does not become a manual reconstruction task. Do not assume an exported screenshot or a copied table stays synchronized with its original Figma file.
